Insurance Planning for Business Owners
Buy-sell funding, key person coverage, overhead expense protection, and owner income protection for closely held businesses, coordinated with your attorney and CPA.
Owners carry two kinds of risk: what happens to the business if they cannot work, and what happens to their family if the business cannot continue. We help map both and identify where insurance may be a reasonable tool.
Common questions we help owners work through
If a partner died tomorrow, who would buy their interest, at what price, and with what money? Does your agreement address long-term disability? Would lenders or key clients be concerned if a particular person were gone? How would rent and payroll be covered if you could not work for six months?
Answers usually involve a mix of buy-sell funding, key person coverage, business overhead expense insurance, and personal disability and life insurance. Not every business needs every piece, and some needs are better addressed with reserves or contracts than with insurance.
How we work
We start with your existing agreements and coverage, identify gaps, and present options with costs and tradeoffs. Legal documents remain with your attorney, and tax treatment is confirmed by your CPA. Where it helps, we coordinate with Noble Tax Strategies or Noble Wealth, which are separately operated firms.
Suitability & Limits
Recommendations depend on entity type, ownership, and existing agreements.
All coverage is subject to underwriting.
Insurance should support, not replace, properly drafted agreements.
