Insurance Planning for High-Income Executives

Closing group disability gaps, evaluating supplemental life coverage, and coordinating permanent insurance and long-term care decisions for executives and high W-2 earners.

Employer benefits are valuable but often capped, taxable, and tied to your job. We help executives understand what their benefits actually provide and where individually owned coverage may be worth considering.

Group benefit gaps

Group long-term disability plans commonly replace a percentage of base salary up to a monthly cap and may exclude bonuses and equity compensation. When the employer pays the premium, benefits are generally taxable. Group life coverage is often a multiple of salary and may not be portable if you leave.

Individually owned disability and term life coverage can fill gaps and stay with you if you change employers, subject to underwriting and carrier limits.

Beyond the basics

Once core protection is in place, some executives evaluate permanent life insurance for estate or legacy goals, or linked-benefit long-term care coverage. We present these as optional, with full discussion of cost and risk, and coordinate with your wealth and tax advisors.

Suitability & Limits

Individual coverage requires underwriting.

Benefit caps apply to combined group and individual coverage.

Executive benefit arrangements should be reviewed with your employer's plan documents.
